Reiju Empowerment

So, what's reiju?

"Reiju is said to be Mikao Usui's original way, a procedure, a blessing that enables the recipient to channel Reiki. In short an attunement.

It is believed that it comes from Tendai Buddhism.is where Hatsu Rei Ho and other Japanese Reiki techniques seem to have their origins.

In the Japanese approach to Reiki practice, students would gather every single week to practice various Reiki techniques. At the end of the gathering, during meditation, the Reiki Master would give Reiju to every student as a means of initiating further progress on their Reiki path.

It is said that Reiju was also used to "attune" (to use western term) students into higher levels of Reiki channeling.

As with many parts of Reiki or Usui-Do (Usui Way) or Usui Teate (Usui Hand Application) there are unfolding versions as research continues. Usui Sensei no doubt developed his methods and understanding as he continued his life journey. He would then probably share different knowledge and techniques with subsequent groups of students. This is hopefully the situation with most masters.

In Japanese Reiju means: "accepting/giving energy".(channeling energy)

What does Reiju do?

Reiju connects the student to the Reiki source, strengthens this connection, and thus enables deeper and stronger Reiki flow. It is the student that has most important role in his development.

Reiju enhances the Reiki channel, but the student must keep it developing by practicing various Reiki techniques, e.g.. Hatsu Rei Ho, Gokai

Reiju helps the student's progress in every aspect of their life, by enhancing the energy level in their bodies. This is also achieved by daily Reiki practice.

Giving (on Master's end) and receiving (on student's end) Reiju empowerments every week or even daily, is a very good opportunity to develop intuition and sensitivity to the energy, and above all, to enable one to make small but important steps towards Satori, Enlightenment."
